Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
“An hour later violent gusts started blowing down from the desert, and the wind and title rips conspired to carry him out to sea” (36). Krakauer chose these words to express his idea that he is in a battle with nature. The words conspired means that nature is planning against him. This relates to the entire book in which Christopher is trying to prove that he is stronger than nature.
